What I’m writing to you today is on what we may know as the Will of God.
Just to be clear, I’m not here to tell you that the Christians serve the same God other religions serve. I’ve come to bless you with something entirely different… God is One.
Have you ever felt like you don’t agree with the scriptures when it says “with God it is always ‘Yes’ “? (2 Corinthians 1:19-20)… Even if you’ve thought about it a little, just nod a little.
Well, yeah, me too. Until I understood by faith, I had a problem with that part of the scriptures. I mean it didn’t seem like God’s promises in the scriptures were being fulfilled let alone already fulfilled. Looking around, it seemed like Christians were experiencing the opposite of the the provisions of God as in the scriptures.

However, I learnt that the Lord’s standard does not change. By God’s grace today I want to show you that indeed, God is not “Yes” today and “No” tomorrow but He is always “Yes”. That is, in Christ, He has fulfilled all the promises ever made.
So now, if these things are the “will” of God, why am I experiencing the opposite of the will of God… To even think that God is aware of everything, even permitted them.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
My focus is that God has a will and, listen to me, He does not change it, He has not changed it, He will not change it. What He wills is done. What He wills, He works it to be.
You may then say “why am I not experiencing the promises of God? He has promised good health, prosperity, etc, why don’t I have them?”
I’ve heard many say it was the Will of God to be sick… Hey!!! I don’t believe that one bit. Do you know why? I don’t believe it because God is the same yesterday, today and forever, His will is the same too. Does He know about your sickness? Most definitely, did He let you get sick? Most definitely, is that His will? Most definitely NOT. If it is His will, then He’s not the same because the same He, took the stripes for our healing.
Are you getting the picture and point I’m making? So often, we experience the opposite of what we see in the scriptures and we claim God’s will is what we are experiencing.
Let me say this quickly, you may think I’m teaching the “health and wealth gospel”, No I am not. I am telling you the Lord, our God, is One. He will not say this today and do this tomorrow…
…except He is working to bring His will to pass.
I pray you caught that. Maybe you should read it again. (we’ll discuss that later). I’ll use health often as an example of promises God has made.
So Jesus took the stripes for our healing… His “will” therefore is that you’re healed and you stay healthy (please pay attention to the will because it’s in quotation). However, you may fall sick… Listen to me, Satan had the “blessing” of God before he could inflict you… Knowing this, you take it as the will of God. That’s where you are wrong.
What the will of God is and what He permits are not even the same thing… And I’m not trying to talk about the perfect and permissive will thing.
I can’t finish this in one post so we’ll continue next week but let me write a little more and round off.
You may say “why will God permit something that’s not His will, doesn’t that make Him a double-standards God ?”
No Friend. The ways of God are mysterious. He achieves the greatest with the least, He achieves the wisest with the most foolish, He makes abundance from lack, He calls light out of darkness. Oh! how He used the wickedness of Joseph’s brothers to send Joseph into the place of his calling for the greater purpose of preserving the people of Israel. Oh! how caused them to be enslaved to further ensure their preservation. All this for the fulfilment of His ultimate plan, the “ministry” of Christ Jesus.
“Rowland, are you saying God will use my sickness to bring healing?”
I believe that’s the question on your heart. To answer this question, let’s talk a little about the will of God next week.
Thank you for reading from me today and I advise that if it’s possible, you read it again. God is one, He doesn’t change.
Join me next week. Please don’t forget to share, like and drop a comment if you have any. God bless you.
