The Christ in Me

I understand that we live in a world where evil is on the rise. However as believers, we must always have hope in the continuous working of righteousness in us by the Holy Spirit.

I hope this is a short one

Thank you for coming to read from me. I believe your faith will increase. Amen.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV)
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

A conversation ensued about tax payment with someone about twice my current age and he asked if I were told to pay a certain amount of my income (as stipulated by the government) without being monitored by the tax authorities, would I be faithful in payment.

I, my confidence truly hanging on all the Lord, through his word and Spirit has taught me thus far, boldly said “Yes sir, I would”. I said that without explanation. Then he said it’s not true. He said no one would be faithful.

Now, knowing I’m a believer (just like he is) he said “No matter the Jesus in you, you wouldn’t be faithful”.

Adelphoi, that was a slap in the face of Jesus not in my face. I was not offended, I was shocked at the unbelief of a believer.

Jesus came to die for our sins but can’t rescue us from living in unrighteousness???!!!

Brethren, I don’t know what your hope is. When you say Christ in me the hope of glory, I don’t know what you mean by hope of glory but let me tell you what Paul meant by it.

When Paul was nearing the end of his life here on earth, he wrote to Timothy to instruct him and at the end he said he had been faithful in his calling and in following Christ (summary) then he said the only thing left is to receive a crown of righteousness.

Paul also said all he wanted was that crown of life even while being clothed in the natural body.

Listen to me brethren, our journey to becoming more and more like Christ is not in the ability to perform miracles, that’s a fall out, it is in righteousness. His grace has come to teach us to depart from ungodliness.

Sadly, the only hope believers these days have is the hope that as they follow Christ, he’ll make life easier for them, provide everything they need and protect them and their family and then go to heaven.

Listen, the kingdom of God is of righteousness and that’s what believers hunger for; Righteousness!!!

If you’re of the school that no man can be perfect, I agree with you but if you say a man who has Christ in him can’t be perfect, bruh, you’re on your own because I have a hope to be crowned with righteousness, to be crowned with life. That journey begins here on earth, the first day you believed.

So, do a little self evaluation. What really is your hope as a believer. To put it simply, what do you believe? Do you believe in a history that has no future?

Listen to me, if your hope is only in this life, you are of all men most miserable. If you have no hope of being sinless, you can not strive by the Spirit to live above the flesh. If there’s no hope of complete righteousness, you’ll live an ungodly life here on earth.

What do you believe? What is your hope?

I think I should do a short teaching on “Tax and Tithe”. Do you think I should?

God bless you. Share this with your family and friends.
