My writing today is quite different. I believe God wants me to address this issue. It’s not something I had thought about or tried to read about until after I perceived God wants me to write to you on it.

I believe God wants to awaken the hearts of Nigerian Christians. The Christians in other places can also learn from this. God bless you.

Recently, one of the law makers in Nigeria passed a bill as an amendment of the same sex marriage law of 2013 which is to make cross dressing a criminal offence in Nigeria attracting jail term and a monetary fine.

cross dressing is when a particular gender dresses, as a matter of lifestyle, like the other gender. But it draws more attention when it’s a male dressing like a female

This writing today may only make meaning to those who seek the kingdom and will of God.

Now listen, Civilization can change the name of a sin but can’t change it implication and consequence.

The lifestyle of “crossdressing” as we know it (note that I’m not referring to those who use it as a form of entertainment) is simply what the bible calls effeminacy.

Effeminacy is a sin!!!

There’s no politics about it. When a man rejects his masculinity and identifies as a female by any form of outward display particular to the female gender, he is effeminate. The same sin is for the woman who takes on masculinity.

It’s funny how many have abused the legislature saying that the nation is in shambles, the economy is bad, people are suffering, blah blah blah and all the legislature spend their time doing is passing bills about men who decide to dress like women.

Let the unbeliever say such things as this but let it never slip out of the mouth of a believer. Never!! The Lord is mercifully using the legislature to awaken the church to the crack on the wall of defence of the country against homosexuality and we are talking about the economy.

Listen to me, people get judged for the things they tolerate. If we tolerate effeminacy through ways like speaking against this bill and against our leaders because they passed this bill, we will not only be judged but God forbid that homosexuality becomes legal.

You may fight against homosexuality outwardly but because you permitted effeminacy, you’ll lose that fight. We will gradually be given over, like in Romans 1 and 2, to a reprobate mind.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (KJV)
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

Some may think “effeminate” there talks about homosexuality. No it doesn’t. They are not the same word.

Tolerating effeminacy is a crack on the wall and if nothing is done about it, that wall is coming down.

If we do not pay attention to what matters, we’ll look back years from now and wonder how we got to the point where a pastor can not refuse to marry homosexuals and not face jail sentence.

Yes we want good schools, we want good roads, we want a stable economy but we will not have it at the expense of righteousness.

We will not downplay righteousness for economic stability.

If all our leaders know how to do is pass bills that are irrelevant to the economy, as people say, you, as a believer, are more interested in whether it promotes righteousness.

A nation that exalts righteousness (knowingly or unknowingly)will escape the wrath of God.

As for the economy, ask the Lord for rain and He will send rain on the dry land.

I encourage you adelphoi, pray for your leaders, pray that the Lord gives you leaders that will exalt righteousness and justice. Plead for mercy for the land.

As you pray for your nation, make righteousness the priority.
