Hello Saint, thank you again for coming to read from me today. I believe God will send you His word in Jesus name.
Let’s go…
First, I think it’s important to state that Jesus, through out his life on the earth, was definitely tempted more than three times.
I’m of the opinion that the record of the obvious temptations of Jesus as seen in Matthew 4:1, Mark 1:13 and Luke 4:2 were a summary of all the temptations that Jesus faced.
After he was tempted for 40 days, this is what the scriptures say:
Luke 4:13 (KJV)
“And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.”
The focus for me today is on the clause “…for a season” some versions put it as “…until an opportune time”.
Listen to me brethren, Jesus, while on earth before his death and resurrection never graduated from the school of temptation.
He faced temptations until death. Some of the questions he was asked where regarded as temptations. Some of the miracles demanded by the people were temptations. He was asked to show them a miracle to prove he was the son of God. That was the very same miracle the devil demanded of him in the wilderness. So, Jesus faced temptations until death.
The devil always comes back at a well calculated time. He comes back when you’re broke, dead broke, he comes back when you are mentally tired and sometimes weak, he comes back in the moments of rejoicing, he just always looks for the most appropriate time to come back.

Let’s look at a scripture together.
Hebrews 3:15 (KJV)
“While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.”
The Lord doesn’t knock on your heart the first day you believed the gospel. He knocks daily… That’s a different topic of discussion… But I want to show you something. I want to show you that this our victory and overcoming that is by faith is a daily matter. It is not a matter of yesterday.
Your victories yesterday were enough for yesterday only. Today!!! When you hear the voice of the master, do not harden your heart because it means the devil is somewhere close also trying to gain mastery over your heart. He comes at an opportune time.
This is the spirit behind the scripture which tells us to watch and pray. Do not become blind by yesterday’s victory. Watch yourself, watch the signs, watch out for the temptations, watch with the eyes of the spirit because it often always comes as the most reasonable thing to do at the moment (opportune timing).
Read that again.
Listen, watch and pray that you may not fall into temptation is the scripture. Watch means do not let your guard down!!!!
Ooh Adephoi!! Do not let your guard down one bit. For it is the little leaven that leavens the whole lump. Stand guard brother, please stand guard!
Do not celebrate yesterday’s victory over sin alone but as long as it is called today, watch and pray that you may not fall into temptation.
I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that we will be filled with strength in our inner man and that in our watching, we boast and stand in the strength of God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
God bless you for reading today. Amen.
