The Living Word

The “Living” is the emphasis today.

Thank you again for coming to read from me today. Happy good Friday.

It’s a good Friday indeed and today I write to encourage you on the path of what matters and pertains to life.

Today’s post may be short but it’ll definitely bless you

Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV)
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Through the scriptures, I have seen how much emphasis has been put on paying attention to the word of God. I mean look at the above passage of scriptures. It encourages us to give attention with all the pathways of entrance into the heart and then says when it’s in your heart, let it be at the center.

Lord help me keep your word at the center of my heart… In Jesus name. Amen!

The word of God is not just a life giver but is actually a living being and that’s my focus today.

Why I want to focus on that is because I believe that if we do more of paying a continuous hearty attention to the word, rather than pay little attention and exert so much effort obeying, we’ll be more fruitful.

Take a lesson from the vine and the branch…

Isaiah 55:10-11 (KJV)
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

This is a car that can not only drive itself but has its own choice of destination and takes the passenger to that destination. This is a car you come into not to be taken to your choice location but to where the word ought to take you to.

Listen adelphoi, as you wake up every morning to pursue something, the word in you, the word that has landed on your attentive field, “wakes” to do only one thing which is to become flesh… What I mean is that the word in the midst of your heart re-configures your heart so much that your outward character, acts, speech, etc, are informed by the word.

To put it simply, “You don’t work on the word, the word works on you.”

Again, law was to be worked on but grace works on you.

So what do you do? It’s all I’ve been writing but let’s see it from another scripture.

Luke 8:15 (KJV)
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”

With a heart that seeks to know and do the will of God, hear the word, keep it in the midst of your heart and repeat. Until fruit is born!!!

Listen friends, fruit that will last must be the one that is born by the Spirit through the Living Word.

Therefore I say to you, give attention to the word and you will live accordingly.

God bless you. Happy Easter Holidays.
